Get a cheep one from eBay, for example this one:

You heat it up in hot water, then you make the impression of your teeth. Use a dremel or something similar to drill holes.

I bought a simple moldable mouthguard (about $3), molded it, punched a couple holes where the clips should have been and attached shoe laces instead of rubber bands.  I just pull on the shoe laces with my hands.

There's a picture somewhere on this forum that I think Walrus put up.

I just ordered. Thanks for the info =)

Try calling different dental appliances provider and see if you can get one shipped. You would need teeth models though, which could cost over 200$

Yes and that is exactly the reason why I want to use the method I mentioned, which does not cost much at all if it's a cheap nightguard that forms after your teeth. Don't know why this method isnt more popular. Also, I don't understand how the metal wire is applied to the nightguard.

Please can someone help me with this, this is what keeps me from starting the treatment.

This was on Platos site as he had been sent this as analternative to  braces/retainer.

The filename is "nightguard", I'm not sure if it's a cheap one you can buy online that forms after your teeth or if it was created by a lab through a dentist. That would not be cheap.

Lets say it's the cheap one. It has to cover all teeth right? I have seen nightguards that just covers 2/3 of the mouth.

Metal wire, hard to say how thick it if from the pic, but the hooks must stay in place at least. The real question is how she got the metal wire in place. Is the metal wire against your teeth or is it in between the nightguards one layer?

Does anyone here use this technique?

Would gladly take advises since this method is perfect for me.

Paffalot: who are these two people? MessiahMews and who else?

It is possible she can earn a referral discount off the next NCR session if she sends someone to Hillary, but otherwise there are no incentives whatsoever for her to post NCR results except a desire to help/share. However as the forum admin I will clean up the extra photo posts and replace them with a link to the original testimonial.

On that note, I know several people who have amazing night and day before/after photos - using the endonasal balloon inflations and facepulling, but I still can't get them to post their photos. I've asked repeatedly and there's always a "as soon as X Happens..." excuse. There are a lot of reasons for this unfortunate phenomenon. it's mainly the discomfort of people seeing what they used to look like, but also laziness.

Well thats too bad, really. Not many people view this forum and the person posting pics will stay anonymous. That's what I am waiting for basically. To see evidence of peoples mandibles swinging forward.

Well at least I can't tell much difference since there are 2 different angles and 2 different facial expressions. Don't understand why there are so few profile shots of people who've had good results.

It seems hard to predict exactly what will happen, but take a look at Ian's before and after photos:

Here - check out the bottom picture of Before and After.

The position of his nose has changed greatly, in the same direction as you seem to want. The entire face has moved closer to the golden ratio. Note that he did both face pulling and NCR.

It looks that way. How come there are no profile shots taken of somebody that has been facepulling? Haven't seen a sinlge one.

Can anyone inform me if FP could make my nose even more up rotated and more pronounced? Thats the only thing that keeps me from starting the treatment.

First time posting here. I'm thinking about starting FP and NCR as soon as I get all the gadgets needed.

My face now:

1. My mandible is somewhat short, the vertical length is 10 cm (4 inches) but I also think it sits too far back. Look at the first pic, the red line is my estimated guess of the angle of the ramus. In the second pic I have pushed my mandible forward and I think the angle looks normal there.

2. My nose looks like it's rotated upward. Look at pic 1, the yellow line has the same angle as the cartilage in the lower part of my nose, that explains why it looks the way it does. I have thought about adding more cartilage there so that I get a more manly nose.

3. My sloping forehead.

All these 3 thing make the other 2 look worse. The face is convex + an odd nose for a man.

Will FP make my nose point even more upward?
Will FP change the position of my mandible so that I get a better balanced profile? (I haven't seen any profile pics from people that has had good results from FP)
Can NCR make my forehead less sloped? (Filling out the top part of my forehead)

The mouth guard plato showed (http://jawpain-tmjtreatment.com/images/nightguard-for-tmj.jpg) with metal wires, is that a cheap moldable thing or custom made from a lab?

Isn't the metal wire better than the shoelace method some people here have used?

What treatment is recomended to begin with? Does it matter?
