Cranial Restructuring / Re: Maxilla Overtaking Mandible

Am i right in saying then that once youve widened your maxilla that the lower jaw ( manbible ) widens naturally by itself to normalise your bite?

Also would you not need a retainer after it? are you using the Y plate for this?

Because my maxilla has expanded adequently as it is bein nearly 58mm in width ( from middle of molar surface to other molar ) but even with that id like more particularly more forward growth.
If i bought an expander id likely need a retainer bt i aint the first clue how id do this with supervision from an ortho n no ortho would help me with my upper archs width already suffcient.
Am kind of stuck in position that id like more forward growth bt no ortho wud help me and bit wearly of attemptin meself in case i **** up, like i say your tongue will do it anyways jus slower for me.

Yo.

The Tongue used properly is more than sufficient for expansion, it must be emphasied thou that adult bones are much more resilient to growth as opposed to a teenagers.
Youll know when your doing this right as you will feel slight discomfort/pressure in your ears from the pushing.
Changes from this may only be 1 or 2mm and may take upwards of 3+ years in an adult, i know this because ive gained 1mm in 2 years and am 37 yrs old, it works and takes time.

The problem your having am guessing sounds like your cots for you are too large, its difficult without actually seeing you perform it, if your cots are too large or long for your turbinates then the cot will as u say just explode down the throat and mak you gag because there too long/large, i use large for me which works perfectly, i cant stress enough thou that once the correct size cot is sought then its simply a matter of aligning the cot all way through the nostril n very very rapidly squeezing the pump and cot will explode to the upper throat/Spheniod area and youll get the release n cracks, the cot wont burst because youve stacked 3 cots ontop of each other the pressure can only go one way then, your bone sutures n Spheniod.

By explode i mean metaphorically as in u build up enough pressure quickly on the turbinate that the cot literally shoots out into the top/back of the throat and therefore smacks the Sphenoid, this isnt a pleasant experience and can be frightening as u often will think that the Cot is going to literally explode and rip your nasal area apart with the sudden n rapid pressure build up which of course is nonsense, but that illustrates your doing it correctly and the pressured Cot will go the only way it can, out into the back of the throat, stack 3 large cots on top of each other and then try it, put it in place in the turbinate right along its length right to the start of the back of the throat n then rapidly pump the valve and dont stop until the cot slams into the throat, usually 3rd or 4th rapid squeeze, your teeth will tangle after that, mine always do, the reason ur not getting the cracks is prob because your doin it too often, once i get cracks or release ill back off from treatment for at least 2 mths to let my face settle down, that way itll b settled in its slightly new position to be '****' or altered again.

Rouby, self NCR does work and works really well, i know this because i do it myself and ive have had the cracking sound a few times, last week in fact, once youve heard the cracking after a session your structure should then shift slightly accordingly, you should ( in my opinion ) leave it a least a mth or 2 before attempting again, let ur structure alter n settle before attempting again etc, i find it best to use 2/3 meduim/large cots stackd on top of one another and place them in the nostril right the way through to the back of throat and once in place squeeze the pump hard n fast a few times, that shud b enuf to create the pressure needed to induce the cracks, u build up the pressure quickly whilst in the nostril before it explodes in the throat etc youll also get teeth tingling straight after.

MeltedFace, you can see from the side profile, your jaw is at an aprox 45 degree angle dwn as opposed to forwards, and your maxilla doesnt support your eyes evidenced by the rings under your eyes etc, the very fact your on here is positive thou as your lookin for advice and this can be fixed, proper tongue on top of palette posture but understand it takes couple of years and shud be first and foremost and if u can afford try look up ALF Appliance, learn to self NCR by geting hold of BStratts instructions pdf whichll speed up the mewing greatly, positive results could prob be achieved in as little as 2 years providing the mewing is done correctly and also do look up ALF Appliance.

Meltedface, your Maxilla resonds to both facepulling and mewing, proper tongue placement etc and in turn your mandible will too, your mandible n chin have no sutures but remodels in size and shape in accordance to what your maxilla does, your maxilla widens and then so your Mandible and chin widens also and yes Mewing is an effective and most natural way to initiate this.

The posterior is very important bt will not produce the upwards force needed until the entire tongue is housed where its supposed to be and it starts with the tip tuckd in n behind the ridge/bump half inch behind front teeth, like u say the rest jus follows up n in this position it produces the required forces to alter your maxilla to where it should be, if looked on from a side view it makes perfect sense as the hard/soft palate looks concave shaped n the tongue kind of hill shaped perfectly designed to fit in this concave shape, done this way the tongue tip is no where near the front teeth and it feels odd first month or so but thats because almost nobody has normal tongue posture, hence modern melting faces and attractice faces seem rare.

Betterbytheday

You are correct about the mewing, a palatal expander especially a non rapid one is pointless once you have mastered the correct tongue to palate posture since they do the same thing.
A palatal expander pressed up on the hard palate slightly pushing on the teeth is exactly to the letter what the tongue does once its in the correct position, there are tons of people even now who mew bt arent getting the results they want and the reason being is simply because there tongue is not in the right position even when they think it is.
The tongue tip should be at least half to 3/4 of an inch behind your front teeth tucked in behind and pressed agaisnt ridge ( the bump/hill part of the palate ) so that the rest of the tongue flattens completely over the hard/soft palate respectively, this isnt easy n feels odd and ive been doin it wrong for ages myself bt once its mastered your maxilla alters within months as it would from an expander.
