Cranial Restructuring / My first week of self-NCR adjustment
« on: August 10, 2016, 09:31:13 am »
Back story: My jaw was broken at the age of 14. Over the last 30 years my face has gotten increasingly more asymmetrical, my left eye is higher and farther back in the orbit then my other eye and my jaw is quite "off center", with my mouth open or closed doesnt matter my jaw is crooked.

I learned about NCR several years ago but live far enough away from any practitioner that it would be impossible to afford to fly there, stay at a hotel and afford the treatment. So basically I put it on my wish list and forgot about it. Long story short, in the last few months i found Ben's instructions on how to perform self-adjustment. I purchased a sphygmomanometer and finger cots (small) off of ebay and I've tried it a few times. This is what's happening for me, any insight much appreciated.

Was able to attach cot to sphygmomanometer using floss first time, then i used a second cot to tie off the first cot to stop any air leaks. Didnt read about this just tried it and it works great.

On the side of my face where the eye is more "forward" in its orbit, I was able to tuck the cot straight back into the nasal passage (not sure which, if any, turbinate i made it into) using a broken off q-tip. The very first time i inflated the balloon a couple of squeezes, WOW! i could feel my facial bones "shift" on both the side i was inflating as well as the other side, my whole face "torqued". The cot never went through to the back of my throat this time and there was no "pop", but I read prior that this was to be considered a successful adjustment if i could feel movement on both sides of my head/face.

I decided to let it rest and switched to the other side.

Trying the other nostril, under the eye that is further back in its orbit, i was again easily able to tuck the cot straight back with a broken q-tip. In fact more easily than the other side. However this time when i inflated the bulb a couple of squeezes, the balloon went right through to the back of my throat with literally no resistance and i did not feel my facial bones move at all, certainly nothing like the other side. I am not sure if it "worked" and i have tried it several more times on this side, always with the same result. It feels like it isnt doing anything at all, no bone movement that i can feel anyways and the balloon just goes right back through into my throat, no matter how i approach the cot positioning.

I will say that after the success the first time i tried it, the heady "lightness" and feeling of happiness i experienced were real. I always thought it was propaganda from the NCR site but it really happened to me. I sat down and played guitar for over an hour, life just flowing through me. Amazing. There is something to this, i can see the up side.

Now the down side...

Since those first couple of times, I read up more about the turbinates and thought i would try to get the cot into the different passages to see if there was any change in feel, movement, result, etc.

2 days ago, on the side that has the eye further forward in the orbit (the side i originally had a great result with), i used a q-tip that had i bent or "rounded" upwards, to shove the cot "up" in to the nasal passage, rather than just straight in. I did indeed feel the cot go upwards into a passage that was not just straight back into the cavity like the first time, so I assumed I had reached the "upper turbinate", though who knows. Only thing is, this time when i squeezed the bulb (i always do it kind of slowly as im still a little freaked out by the whole process) i did feel the bones "move/shift", but it was more painful this time. Not a PAIN pain, not a sharp pain, just more of a "this doesn't feel right" kind of pain. Eyes watered, teeth hurt, sinus passage is painful & dull-achy, like it didnt want to bothered anymore. Frankly the feeling sucked, so i let the balloon deflate and never bothered with the other side..

What sucks even worse now is that ever since that attempt, no matter where i stuff the cot on that side it kind of hurts this same way when the cot is inflated. I can only assume that i've irritated something up there, my bones lol!, the whole sinus area, so i guess I'll leave it for a few days before I try again. Hopefully the pain subsides and i'll be back to baseline. If anyone has any thoughts on this let me know.

One last thing, I also have the "neck forward" condition many describe. My shoulder blade and neck aches on the same side that the eye is further back. It feels like something is pulling in my shoulder blade when i roll my head back on my shoulders. The very first time I tried these adjustments, to my surprise the condition seemed to get better. I was able to more easily roll my head back with little or no pain/ache. Something that ive dealt with for years. However, ever since the more "painful" adjustment attempt, the problem with my neck/shoulder blade is back and seems worse than before. I dont know if this is because i moved the sphenoid into a worse position or what.

Anyways today my jaw hurts, inner ear aches, i have a bit of a headache and my shoulder blade/neck is uncomfortable. Hopefully this too shall pass.

So, thats where im at. I'm hoping that someone on this forum can give me more advice on ...

1. How do i know which turbinate/passage I am in? Is there some way to "feel" it?
2. Is there a better way than another to get the cot into the different passage levels?
3. How do i know which side i should be adjusting? Should i be adjusting both sides or just one side?
4. Why does the one side never seem to work? Am i putting the cot in wrong on this side or is my sphenoid just more tightly fused on that side?
5. How often is too often for adjusting?

And anything else you can think of. All advice/thoughts appreciated.
