if you hold your breath and/or affix the balloon properly, there's no real possibility of that happening.

I wouldn't worry about choking on a balloon. A toddler might have trouble but not an adult.

Hi,

I've ordered the equipment to perform NCR on myself. It seems to me the biggest danger is choking on the balloon. If I understand correctly, the inflation process should only last a couple of seconds and I should be holding my breath throughout. Realistically, what are the chances of choking on the balloon?
