Not feeling anything while face pulling
« on: June 25, 2015, 01:28:20 pm »
Hello everyone I am new to the forum and I just wanted to note my experience with face pulling so far. I am really hoping face pulling works out for growing my maxilla forward and bringing my mandible to a nice low horizontal position. I assume this will take a few months to a year. My only concern as of this moment is if I am face pulling correctly. I am using a hockey helmet with the screws rubber bands and paperclips like on the http://jawpain-tmjtreatment.com/ website. I even had Plato make my retainer albeit I believe I sent a poor sample mold of my teeth but they made it anyway. So while I am facepulling I don't feel any soreness at all in my cheekbones, what I do feel is a pressure on the back of my neck. I also feel that may retainer kind of slips out during the middle of treatment if I push too hard or in the wrong direction against the roof of my mouth with my tongue. Those are the only issues Ive encountered. I like the feeling I get behind my upper teeth where i feel the aftermath of all the pressure applied against my upper teeth after a 30 minute session. That feeling lasts an hour or two where it feels like it starting to move my teeth forward. Its only been about 5 days of face pulling so I don't really note any changes at all but It almost feels like its working. I hope later on my cheekbones will get sore so that may be an indication of my maxilla growing forward. I will post before and after pics If I feel like there has been a significant change and I sure hope for it.
