New information related to face-pulling
« on: September 21, 2017, 06:57:48 pm »
I discovered something new today.

I learned that the body has to be relaxed for face-pulling to work. It is called "parasympathetic" mode, but it just feels like relaxed muscles and inner calmness.

I am feeling certain now that in the past, my earlier photos were self-deception, since I did not feel any feeling in my cheekbones when I first began face-pulling.

Today, though, when my body feels very much healthier and relaxed internally, and my nerves feel at rest and in ease, and I am free from inner tension, TODAY in the movie theatre, I tried face-pulling and felt it work.

I am going to try it for 3 days and report back.

I think that I may have no discovered an important element to success, which is attaining the iner calmness state where the nerves are at calm ease.

I'm not certain actually, but I would theorise that it also would apply there.

Probably. Myofunctional therapy advices patients to sleep on their back. In this position the tongue tends to end up pushing against the palate throughout the night. I've noticed that often when I go to bed, relax and let my tongue rest against the palate, my sinuses make several popping and cracking sounds, clearing all congestion and making breathing VERY easy. The amount of air I breathe in this state is also slightly stimulating and sometimes I can't fall asleep for a while.

Progress, that's interesting, I was experiencing the same thing once I started sleeping on a flat back. However, after experiencing this for months, it really started to become a problem for me.

I believe it's because our tongue is falling into the back of our throats, therefore blocking our airway and causing a mild apnea event, which triggers a sympathetic (not parasympathetic) response from our nervous system. If we had more tongue space this probably wouldn't occur.

I stopped sleeping on a flat back, and am now using a pillow. I find that I sleep better now. Once I correct my structure using an appliance with the guidance of an orthotropist, or possibly DNA/Homeoblock practitioner I will likely revert back to pillowless sleeping.

Something I was really sure of is that massaging the facial muscles and those close to it is gonna help a lot. There is this japanese method, which involves massaging the muscles to change the face shape, make it shorter or narrower.  I still stay behind my believe, but I think other factors might also be involved in the process like NCR for example(although I still dont know what NCR exactly does and affects). There was this user which posted her progress and she had significantly lifted her maxilla, like a lot, like the thing you would achieve with a belt by relaxing the muscles and doing NCR. I try to massage frequently, but TMD doesnt let you relax that much, and stiffness comes back fast, so I cant really say how much of improvement relaxing the muscles can be, but I think it should help a lot.

I think being calm and let your body be in that calm state definately helps in creating changes. After all, this is the same for digestion. Digestion only works correctly if you are relaxed, because if your body is in 'fight or flight mode' , the body does not consider your digestion the priority at the moment, but your nervous system and muscles since they help you out of a stressing situatio. So when you eat and digest, you should also be very calm and such for optimal digestion.

So yeah, it would make sense that if  you put pressure on your body you should always make sure you do not put so much stress on it that it comes in this same 'fight or flight'mode, since maybe that blocks any changes from happening. The body is then in defence mode too much, not in 'repair' mode. Maybe the best would be to, while facepulling, is to do something extremely relaxing. For example watch a comedy show or movie or whatever to make your mind positivive, put on relaxing music etc etc

At least, my 2 cents;)
