Just a tip, but a beard trimmed short that creates a "squared" jaw along where the gonial angle should end up being is a great way to go! You've just got a fresh canvas now ;)

Ha, that video came to my mind too as was taking the picture.

Definitely. Shaving the neck area all the way up to the underside of mandible in a way that improves the gonial angle is exactly the type of beard I've been donning for years. My face looks much more harmonious that way.

It's amazing how much chin alone can affect the whole face:

I made a long post about how I also use shaving to improve my facial harmony, with a picture with description how to exactly shave it to imrpove your jawline and facial harmony. However, the site does not let me post. it it gives an error

"An Error Has Occurred!

The upload folder is full. Please try a smaller file and/or contact an administrator."

What kind of nonsense is this? the picture was like 96 KB. This is small enough right?
And what is 'upload folder is full" ? Is there such a thing here as upload folder here?

Does anyone know? Took me quite some time to make the picture

Ok I managed to upload a picture to the website. Not sure how to make it visible here

I use shaving my beard too, to improve my facial harmony excactly in the same way! I made a picture of how I shave my beard. I photoshopped the picture to draw how i shave my beard

Positive sides:

- Creates a more defined chin shape
- Creates a more defined jawshape
- Gives your head a more square appearance (good!)
- Makes your lower third appear bigger from most perspectives

Possible problems:

- creating the optimal and natural looking shape "jaw line"might not be easy for everyone.
- If your face is very lean/skinny, it might be more visible that the shape of the beard and your jawline are not exactly the same
- If you use the method of leaving certain areas longer or shorter to define the shape of the jaw and chin, it requires more manual work and more creativity
- If your hair is not very dense, you should let the thin areas grow longer than the rest. I use that way because my beard lacks hair on a few areas. It works very well! Shave the edges as sharp as possible if your hair is not dense in all areas. This creates the illusion of a thicker beard, denser beard area. The more undefined the edges are, the thinner the beard will look. You also need stronger defined edges in order to create the shape of the jawline

Tips:

- Always comb the hairs down before shaving
- Use 2 mirrors to see yourself from side perspective. 1 regular big mirror and 1 smaller one you hold in your hand might is a good method that works

Thanks for taking the time to do that. Yes, I fully agree, that kind of beard is a blessing for us chinlets and jawlets. You can embed pics by writing

Actually I think your chin looks fine.

A few years ago I learned about face exercise and being that I spent most of my life slack-faced from boredom (school, watching TV, or having "fun" absorbed in endless hours of video and computer game "joy"), I saw later in life that my face muscles are actually pretty slack and droopy.

I exercise my face to try and lift it back up, and it actually makes a positive difference.

I knew a woman, too, during my time living in a homeless shelter, whose face became puffy from alcohol abuse, and she told me how one night of smiling actually lifted her whole face up and her cheeks too. I also met with her again after she'd been through rehab and while her face was back to its healthy rosy colour after the sickly parlor she'd worn, what actually struck me most was how her face had lifted back up to a more beautiful position.

In the task to become our best versions, I think that lightly adjusting the underlying bone helps, but the fitness of the face itself also is a piece of the overall puzzle.
