Hi Ben,

I'm contacting you from the UK.  I have been seeing a dentist here called Dr Amir in Putney for 4 months I believe he may have treated the tanned young guy  you featured in one of your threads.  .. A potted history I am 36 years old and have been on and off anti-depressant meds since I was in a bad accident aged 17.  These were prescribed initially by a counsellor but over the last 4 years they have been administered by the eastman dental hospital  in London to dampen my pain receptors' to tmj symptoms.  I have narrow face and nose running from top left to bottom right  I use nasal sprays and allergy tablets year round, otherwise alternate nasal passage block up when I am trying to sleep. I presented to DR Amir with acute pain around the jaw joints, persistent head and neck tension, inability to sleep or rest fitfully on the right hand side (recently compounded by a right shoulder ligament tear), sphenoid misalignment and fatigue.
I am approaching four months treatment with Dr Amir and am at a crossroads that I am hoping you may be able to help with. I am still wearing a removeable expandable upper brace and lower brace that is intended to create spaces between the teeth. This will eventually straighten them with the purpose of bringing my lower jaw forward and putting less pressure on the back of my bite.  Problem is my facial symmetry and hence my symptoms are worse now than when I began treatment when I mention this to Dr Amir he advises I hang in there things will get better. Looking at the parallels with your pictures and history I would be grateful if you could share your NCR suggestion with me because I think I can benefit massively.
