Two days ago I started chewing falim gum. I was considering making this post maybe after some time, but it is probably best to address things as soon as they happen and it doesnt hurt to ask, does it? So, as the title says, I have jaw pain which appears after some time of chewing, not even that long, I have been chewing since 40 minutes and the pain spread to both sides of my jaw, so here I am. I have never before had jaw pain before and had it yesterday for the first time. It also spreads to my ear, when it happens it feels like I am popping a joint, but it is slight and the memory might be lying me. I think that it might be because I am chewing a bit unseriously, what I mean by that is that I am not chewing just doing the up down movement but moving my mandible around, like for example some douchy chewing, like you feel too confident and relaxed, like an actor would for example portray someone chewing a gum and wrapping their hair around their finger
. So, my question is, should I continue with the chewing, should I just do short intervals and with time longer. There is this also that I chew mainly on my assymetrical side and have noticed that this causes pain because there is force on just one side for too long time. That might sound like, well duh, you found the answer yourself why are you asking, but many people say they chew on one side for hours, so yeah. Should I be worried about causing TMD? In the end, I dont think stopping chewing this gum is the better option since it is supposed to be the helper, the fix, which will work to avoid this or to treat it.
