Cranial Restructuring / Soft vs Hard Palate

Do you think it is easier and more effective to face pull on the soft palate than the hard? Or does both need to be pushed when using ur fingers?

Cranial Restructuring / A Focus on the Nose
« on: January 07, 2018, 07:32:34 pm »
Hello, I have been Mike Mew and Claiming Power for about a few years now (time flies by fast :O), anyways I have recently stumbled upon this site and decided to join the party.

I have (almost) always had a "big" nose ever since probably middle school and I hate it with a passion. I have consistently practiced mewing and the correct way of swallowing and chewing for quite a while now. I have seen very good results by doing it for the last two years but my nose still looks quite large.

My initial instinct was to think, "if training my jaw and tongue muscles to bring the maxilla and mandible forward, surely there are some muscles for my nose I can train to make it defined and "small" again. I am 21 years old and have probably been doing mewing since I was 18 or 19; my high school pics show me with a very elongated face with a "witch's nose" as it looks like lol which was a result of me sleeping with my mouth open for years, but it wasn't always like that. In my adolescent years (according to pictures) I actually had a pretty nice posture and small nose up until maybe 13 years of age. I think I have seen some progress in my nose from mewing but the subject of the matter is:

I have been doing some research surrrounding the nose for a while and have discovered that there is a muscle in the nose called the "nasalis" (maybe new news to yall maybe not) it's the sheet of muscle that blankets the bridge of the nose (see picture)

The muscle is basically the muscle that "flares" your nose but I believe it may be the muscle which, if strengthened, can make a better looking nose. The "wings" of the nasalis is attached to the maxilla and literally covers the majority of the nose (the part that I want toned). Now Mr. Mew believes that just Mewing can cause the maxilla to go up and then cause the nose to look slimmer, but I don't believe that is 100% the case.

Back in my high school days I was looking at things to slim my nose down, one of which was like a nose clamp which you put on your nose and it made it smaller (but it focused more on the width than the curve of the nose which I wanted fixed), but researching that led to the discovery that the nose is made out of cartilage and cartilage CAN be reshaped because it is more malleable than bone.

So what do yall think of this? Should I attempt to do nose flare exercises for the next few weeks to see if that makes a difference? I also saw on another topic on here that the farther back you go on your palate the farther up the face will be affected with the tongue? Maybe we can target or definitively figure out which areas and muscles can make a difference in the nose. Thanks and God Bless :)
